- 8 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk (or half-and-half for richer texture)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or Swiss/Gruyère for variation)
- 6 slices cooked bacon, crumbled
- ½ cup onion, finely diced (optional, sautéed for sweetness)
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- ¼ tsp smoked paprika (optional, for flavor depth)
- Fresh herbs (thyme or parsley), for garnish
Instructions
- Cook bacon until crispy. Drain on paper towels, then crumble.
- If using onions, sauté them in a little bacon fat until soft and golden.
- In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, pepper, and smoked paprika until smooth.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Grease a 9-inch pie dish or round baking dish.
- Sprinkle half the cheese and bacon evenly on the bottom.
- Pour the egg mixture over the top.
- Add the remaining cheese and bacon on top.
- Bake uncovered for 30–35 minutes, or until the quiche is set in the center and slightly golden on top.
- Let rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing.
- Garnish with fresh thyme or parsley.
