Description
Candy-Crusted Pineapple Gems are a delightful treat that combines the sweetness of fresh pineapple with a sugary crust, making them a perfect snack or dessert.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 cups fresh pineapple chunks (bite-sized)
- ½ cup strawberry or raspberry syrup (or grenadine)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup rainbow sanding sugar or edible glitter sugar
- Toothpicks or skewers (for easy dipping & eating)
Instructions
- Prepare the Pineapple: Cut fresh pineapple into bite-sized chunks and pat them dry with a paper towel to help the syrup stick better.
- Coat with Syrup: In a bowl, toss pineapple chunks with strawberry (or raspberry) syrup until evenly coated. Let sit for 2–3 minutes so the syrup clings nicely.
- Roll in Sugar: Mix granulated sugar with rainbow sanding sugar in a shallow dish. Roll each syrup-coated pineapple chunk in the sugar mixture until fully covered.
- Set the Gems: Place coated chunks on parchment paper and let sit for 10–15 minutes to allow the sugar to firm up into a candy-like crust.
- Serve & Enjoy: Transfer to a clear cup or bowl for a sparkling gem-like effect and serve immediately for the crunchiest texture.
Notes
- For a different flavor, try using different fruit syrups.
- These gems are best served fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for a short time.
