Description

Golden, crunchy bread balls stuffed with gooey cheese and savory mix-ins, baked (or fried) to perfection and served pull-apart style. A perfect appetizer, snack, or party centerpiece!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough (or homemade bread dough, about 16 oz)
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup cooked bacon bits or diced ham (optional)
  • ¼ cup red onion, finely diced (optional)
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 2 cups panko breadcrumbs
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • Ranch, marinara, or garlic dipping sauce for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) if baking. Or heat oil to 350°F (175°C) if frying.
  2. Flatten each piece of dough slightly. Add a spoonful of mozzarella, cheddar, bacon/ham, and onion in the center. Pinch dough tightly around filling to seal.
  3. Roll each sealed dough ball in flour, then dip into beaten eggs, then coat fully in seasoned panko breadcrumbs.
  4. Arrange on a greased baking sheet and bake for 18–22 minutes, until golden brown, or fry in batches for 3–4 minutes until crispy and deep golden. Drain on paper towels.
  5. Arrange in a circle or pile on a platter. Sprinkle with parsley and serve warm with dipping sauces.

Notes

  • Feel free to customize the filling with your favorite ingredients.
  • For a vegetarian option, omit the bacon/ham.
  • These can be made ahead of time and reheated in the oven.
