A delicious bread loaded with colorful jimmies that adds a festive touch.

- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour (spooned and leveled)
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup light brown sugar (packed)
- ½ teaspoon almond extract
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs (room temperature)
- ½ cup milk (room temperature)
- ¼ cup sour cream (room temperature)
- ½ cup red and green jimmies sprinkles
- 1 ½ cups powdered sugar
- 1–2 Tablespoons milk
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- red and green sprinkles (optional garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C), or 160°C for a fan oven. Spray a 8 x 4 loaf pan with cooking spray, or line with parchment paper.
- In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vanilla, and almond extract until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well between eggs.
- Alternately add the flour mixture and the milk and sour cream to the butter mixture, beginning and ending with the flour. Do not overmix.
- Gently fold in the red and green sprinkles.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to make the glaze.
- Drizzle the glaze over the cooled bread, allowing it to run down the sides. Decorate with additional sprinkles if desired.
Notes
- This bread is best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
- For an extra festive touch, feel free to add more sprinkles on top of the glaze before it dries.
