- ¾ cup (170 g) unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
- 1 cup (200 g) packed brown sugar
- ½ cup (100 g) granulated sugar
- 1 large egg + 1 egg yolk (room temperature)
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 ½ cups (270 g) semi-sweet chocolate chips (or chunks)

- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment.

- Bake 9–11 minutes, until edges are golden but centers look slightly underbaked.
- Let cool on baking sheet 5 minutes, then transfer to a rack.
Notes
- Chilling the dough is essential for achieving the perfect chewy texture.
- For a richer flavor, use dark brown sugar instead of light brown sugar.
- Store cookies in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
