Description
A delicious and warm appetizer featuring bread cubes soaked in herb-butter, melted brie, and sweet cranberries, perfect for holiday gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 large round loaf (sourdough or country bread)
- 300–350 g Brie cheese, sliced or cubed
- ½ cup dried cranberries
- 2–3 sprigs fresh rosemary, chopped (plus extra for garnish)
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
- 6 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh thyme or ½ tsp dried
- 1 tsp rosemary, finely chopped
- Salt & pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C / 350°F and place the bread loaf on a cutting board.
- Cut the bread into a grid pattern, slicing in one direction without cutting through the bottom, then slice perpendicularly to create square “pull-apart” cubes.
- Insert small cubes or slices of brie into the cracks of the bread, pushing them deep to melt inside.
- Tuck dried cranberries evenly into the cuts and sprinkle chopped rosemary and parsley all over.
- In a small bowl, mix melted butter, garlic, thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper. Slowly pour or brush the mixture over the bread, letting it seep deep into the cuts.
- Wrap the entire loaf in foil and bake for 15 minutes to melt the cheese. Uncover and bake for 10 more minutes until golden and crisp on top.
Notes
- For a stronger flavor, use fresh herbs.
- Can be served with a side of cranberry sauce for dipping.
- Best enjoyed warm right out of the oven.
