Description

A delicious and warm appetizer featuring bread cubes soaked in herb-butter, melted brie, and sweet cranberries, perfect for holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large round loaf (sourdough or country bread)
  • 300350 g Brie cheese, sliced or cubed
  • ½ cup dried cranberries
  • 23 sprigs fresh rosemary, chopped (plus extra for garnish)
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
  • 6 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh thyme or ½ tsp dried
  • 1 tsp rosemary, finely chopped
  • Salt & pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C / 350°F and place the bread loaf on a cutting board.
  2. Cut the bread into a grid pattern, slicing in one direction without cutting through the bottom, then slice perpendicularly to create square “pull-apart” cubes.
  3. Insert small cubes or slices of brie into the cracks of the bread, pushing them deep to melt inside.
  4. Tuck dried cranberries evenly into the cuts and sprinkle chopped rosemary and parsley all over.
  5. In a small bowl, mix melted butter, garlic, thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper. Slowly pour or brush the mixture over the bread, letting it seep deep into the cuts.
  6. Wrap the entire loaf in foil and bake for 15 minutes to melt the cheese. Uncover and bake for 10 more minutes until golden and crisp on top.

Notes

  • For a stronger flavor, use fresh herbs.
  • Can be served with a side of cranberry sauce for dipping.
  • Best enjoyed warm right out of the oven.
