Description

A creamy and delicious beef tortellini skillet dish that’s perfect for a quick weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450 g) beef sirloin or steak, cut into bite-sized cubes
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (divided)
  • Salt & black pepper, to taste
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 ½ cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ¼ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 (20 oz) package refrigerated cheese tortellini
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season beef cubes with salt and pepper. Sear beef 2–3 minutes per side until browned but still tender. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, add remaining olive oil and garlic; sauté 30 seconds until fragrant. Pour in beef broth and heavy cream. Simmer gently. Stir in Parmesan, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes. Cook until slightly thickened (3–4 minutes).
  3. Add tortellini directly into the skillet. Simmer in the sauce for 5–6 minutes (or until pasta is tender and cooked through).
  4. Return seared beef to skillet, tossing to coat in the creamy sauce. Cook 1–2 minutes more until warmed through. Garnish with fresh parsley and extra Parmesan.

Notes

  • For a spicier dish, increase the amount of red pepper flakes.
  • Feel free to add vegetables like spinach or mushrooms for added nutrition.
  • This dish can be made ahead and reheated, but the tortellini may absorb some sauce.
