Description

A delicious and creamy recipe for garlic mashed potatoes, perfect for any meal.


Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Yukon Gold potatoes
  • 5 cloves garlic, peeled
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives (optional)

Instructions

  1. Peel and chop the potatoes into evenly sized chunks.
  2. Place them in a large pot, cover with cold water, and add a pinch of salt.
  3. Bring to a boil and simmer until the potatoes are fork-tender (15–20 minutes).
  4. In a small saucepan, heat butter and cream with the garlic cloves over low heat until garlic is soft (about 10 minutes).
  5. Mash the softened garlic into the butter-cream mixture.
  6. Drain the cooked potatoes and return them to the pot to steam dry for a few minutes.
  7. Use a potato masher or ricer to mash the potatoes until smooth.
  8. Gradually mix in the garlic-infused butter and cream until fully combined.
  9. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  10. Garnish with fresh chives and serve warm.
