Description

A creamy and delicious shrimp Alfredo tortellini recipe that combines tender shrimp with rich Alfredo sauce and cheese tortellini.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (9 oz) package cheese tortellini (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp paprika (optional, for color)
  • 2 tbsp butter (for Alfredo sauce)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ¾ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup cream cheese (softened, for extra creaminess)
  • ¼ tsp salt (for Alfredo sauce)
  • ¼ tsp black pepper (for Alfredo sauce)
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook tortellini according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside, tossing lightly with a drizzle of olive oil to prevent sticking.
  2. Pat shrimp dry with paper towels and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add shrimp in a single layer and cook for 1–2 minutes per side, until pink and lightly browned. Remove shrimp from skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium. Add 2 tbsp butter and minced garlic; sauté 30 seconds until fragrant. Pour in heavy cream, stirring to combine. Bring to a gentle simmer. Add Parmesan and cream cheese, whisking until melted and smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Add cooked tortellini to the sauce, stirring until evenly coated. Gently fold in seared shrimp. Cook for 2–3 minutes over low heat to let flavors meld.
  5. Sprinkle with fresh parsley and extra Parmesan. Serve warm with garlic bread or a crisp green salad.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes to the shrimp seasoning.
  • Feel free to substitute shrimp with chicken or vegetables for a different variation.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
