- 12 hot dogs or cocktail sausages
- 12 mozzarella cheese sticks (or thick cheese slices cut into sticks)
- 12 slices of sandwich bread (crusts removed)
- 2 large eggs (beaten)
- 1 cup (120 g) all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ cups (150 g) breadcrumbs (panko preferred for extra crunch)
- Oil for deep frying (vegetable or canola)
Instructions
- Flatten each slice of bread with a rolling pin.
- Place one hot dog and one cheese stick on each bread slice.
- Roll tightly, sealing the edges by pressing slightly.
- Dredge each roll lightly in flour.
- Dip into beaten egg, coating fully.
- Roll in breadcrumbs until completely covered.
- Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry rolls in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 2–3 minutes.
- Drain on paper towels.
- Serve hot with ketchup, mustard, or a spicy mayo dip.
Notes
- For extra flavor, consider adding spices to the breadcrumbs.
