Description

A warm and comforting beverage made with coconut milk and spices.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups full-fat coconut milk
  • 2 inches ginger, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 4 cardamom pods, crushed
  • 5 whole cloves
  • 1 star anise
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Honey or maple syrup, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the coconut milk, ginger, turmeric, cinnamon stick, cardamom, cloves, and star anise.
  2. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve to remove the spices and ginger.
  5. Sweeten with honey or maple syrup, to taste.
  6. Serve warm and enjoy!
