Description

A hearty and delicious Deep-Dish Pizza Burger Pie that combines the flavors of pizza and burgers in a unique way.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cans refrigerated pizza dough (or homemade, enough for top + bottom crust)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (for greasing and brushing)
  • 1 ½ lbs ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt & black pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup pizza sauce (plus extra for dipping)
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2025 pepperoni slices
  • ½ cup pickled jalapeños (sliced)
  • Fresh parsley or chives, chopped (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Heat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a deep 9-inch springform pan or cake pan.
  2. Cook the beef: In a skillet, brown ground beef with onion and garlic until cooked through. Drain excess fat. Season with Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Stir in ½ cup pizza sauce. Remove from heat.
  3. Assemble crust: Roll out one portion of dough and press into the bottom and sides of the pan. Leave some overhang for sealing.
  4. Layer filling: Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce on the bottom crust. Add half the ground beef mixture. Sprinkle a layer of mozzarella and cheddar. Add another layer of beef and cheese. Top with pepperoni slices and jalapeños.
  5. Top crust: Roll out the second dough portion, place over the filling, and pinch edges with the bottom crust to seal. Cut a few small slits on top for steam release. Brush with olive oil.
  6. Bake: Place pan on a baking sheet (to catch drips) and bake 35–45 minutes, until golden brown. If browning too quickly, tent with foil.
  7. Cool & serve: Let sit 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh parsley or chives and serve with extra pizza sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add more crushed red pepper flakes.
  • Feel free to customize the filling with your favorite pizza toppings.
  • Make sure to let the pie cool before slicing for cleaner pieces.
