- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
- Pinch salt
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 cup fresh blackberries
- Powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8–9 inch pie dish or skillet with butter and coat it with a light layer of sugar.
- In a bowl, whisk together eggs and sugar until slightly frothy and pale.
- Add milk, vanilla, almond extract (optional), and salt. Sift in the flour gradually while whisking to prevent lumps.
- Arrange blackberries evenly in the prepared dish. Gently pour batter over the fruit.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the center is set.
- Let cool for at least 10–15 minutes before serving. Dust with powdered sugar.
Notes
- This dish can be served warm or at room temperature.
- Other fruits can be used in place of blackberries, such as cherries or raspberries.
