Description
A quick and creamy seafood casserole featuring shrimp and scallops, topped with a golden breadcrumb crust.

- 1 lb (450 g) shrimp, peeled & deveined
- ½ lb (225 g) scallops (optional: or substitute with extra shrimp)
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 cups milk (warm)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tsp Old Bay seasoning (or paprika + cayenne blend)
- Salt & pepper, to taste
- ½ cup breadcrumbs
- 2 tbsp olive oil or melted butter (for topping)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
- Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute.
- Slowly whisk in warm milk and cream until thickened.
- Add garlic, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Stir in mozzarella and Parmesan until smooth.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Arrange shrimp and scallops in a lightly greased baking dish.
- Pour creamy sauce over the seafood.
- Mix breadcrumbs with olive oil (or melted butter) and sprinkle evenly over the top.
- Bake uncovered for 20–25 minutes, until seafood is cooked and topping is golden brown.
- Garnish with fresh parsley.
- Serve hot with lemon wedges and crusty bread.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, increase the amount of cayenne in the seasoning.
- Feel free to add other seafood like crab or lobster for variety.
- This dish pairs well with a side salad or steamed vegetables.
