Description

Indulge in these delicious Frosted Brown Sugar Blondies, a sweet treat perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (230 g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups (400 g) packed light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon (optional, for warmth)
  • 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup (115 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups (240 g) powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9×9-inch (23×23 cm) baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla extract; whisk again until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  5. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined — don’t overmix.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top evenly.
  7. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean (a few moist crumbs are fine).
  8. Let the blondies cool completely in the pan before frosting.
  9. Beat cream cheese and butter together until creamy and smooth (about 2 minutes).
  10. Add powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and salt, and beat until fluffy (2–3 minutes more).
  11. Spread the frosting generously over the cooled blondies.
  12. Chill for at least 30 minutes to set before slicing.

Notes

  • For added flavor, consider adding nuts or chocolate chips to the blondie batter.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
