Description
A delicious and creamy garlic butter chicken bowtie pasta that is easy to prepare and full of flavor.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 oz bowtie (farfalle) pasta
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts, diced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Cook the bowtie pasta – Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the bowtie pasta according to package instructions. I always remember my grandmother saying pasta water should taste like the sea. Once cooked, drain and set aside.
- Cook the chicken – Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the diced chicken and season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Cook for about 5–7 minutes until the chicken is golden and cooked through. Watching the chicken develop that golden color always signals the start of something delicious.
- Add garlic and butter – Add butter and minced garlic to the skillet. Stir gently and cook for about one minute until the garlic becomes fragrant. The smell alone will fill your kitchen with the comforting promise of dinner.
- Make the creamy sauce – Pour in the heavy cream and stir well. Allow the mixture to simmer for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened. Then stir in the grated Parmesan cheese. The sauce will become smooth, creamy, and rich.
- Combine pasta and sauce – Add the cooked bowtie pasta directly into the skillet. Toss everything together so the pasta is fully coated in the garlic butter sauce.
- Finish and garnish – Sprinkle chopped parsley and optional red pepper flakes on top. Give everything one last gentle toss and serve warm. The final bowl of Garlic Butter Chicken Bowtie Pasta should look glossy, creamy, and irresistible.
