Description
A rustic bread bowl stuffed with creamy garlic shrimp, melted cheese, and herbs — baked until golden and pull-apart perfect. A show-stopping appetizer or hearty snack for seafood lovers!

- 1 large round loaf of sourdough or Italian bread
- 2 tbsp olive oil (for brushing)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 lb shrimp, peeled & deveined
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- ½ cup roasted red peppers, diced
- ½ tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt & pepper, to taste
- 1 cup cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup sour cream or mayonnaise
- 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup shredded Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice off the top of the bread loaf and hollow out the center, leaving a thick wall around the edges. Brush inside with olive oil and minced garlic. Bake for 10 minutes to lightly crisp.
- In a skillet, melt butter with olive oil. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant. Stir in shrimp, red pepper flakes, roasted peppers, and Italian seasoning. Cook 3–4 minutes until shrimp turn pink. Remove from heat and chop shrimp into bite-sized pieces (reserve a few whole shrimp for garnish).
- In a bowl, combine cream cheese, sour cream, mozzarella, Parmesan, parsley, salt, and pepper. Stir in chopped shrimp mixture.
- Spoon shrimp-cheese mixture into the prepared bread bowl. Top with reserved whole shrimp for presentation.
- Return bread bowl to oven and bake for 20–25 minutes, until cheese is bubbly and golden. Garnish with parsley.
- Tear pieces of the bread bowl to scoop up the cheesy shrimp filling — serve hot!
Notes
- For a spicier kick, increase the amount of red pepper flakes.
- Feel free to substitute shrimp with other seafood like crab or lobster.
- This dish is best served immediately after baking for optimal texture.
