Ingredients

- 5 3/4 cups water
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 3 cups Quaker Old Fashioned Oats
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup salted butter
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 2 tablespoons molasses
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
- 1/2 cup raisins
Instructions
- Bring water and salt to a rolling boil in a large pot over medium-high heat.
- Stir in oats, reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally until liquid is absorbed.
- Remove from the heat and add the remaining ingredients. Stir until well combined. Serve hot.
Notes
- For extra flavor, consider adding a pinch of nutmeg or extra cinnamon.
- This oatmeal can be topped with additional nuts or fresh fruit if desired.
