Description

Delicious homemade cheesy garlic breadsticks that are easy to make and perfect for sharing.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ¼ tsp (1 packet) active dry yeast
  • 1 ½ cups warm water (40–45°C)
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced (or 1 tsp garlic powder)
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried parsley (plus fresh parsley for garnish)
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water. Let sit 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Add yeast mixture and olive oil.
  3. Knead dough for 6–8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. In a small bowl, mix melted butter, garlic, oregano, parsley, and salt. Set aside.
  6. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  7. Roll dough into a rectangle (about 9×13 inches). Place on a parchment-lined baking tray.
  8. Brush with garlic butter mixture.
  9. Sprinkle evenly with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  10. Bake for 15–18 minutes, until golden brown and cheese is bubbly.
  11. Cut into breadsticks while warm.
  12. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with marinara or ranch dipping sauce.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add red pepper flakes to the garlic butter mixture.
  • These breadsticks are best served warm.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
