Description

Deliciously soft and chewy chocolate chip cookies that are easy to make and perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chocolate pieces or chunks (for the inside)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until creamy and smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time and then add the vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the flour mixture to the creamed butter mixture, stirring until just combined.
  5. Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips to the dough until evenly distributed.
  6. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. This helps the cookies maintain their shape during baking.
  7. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  8. Using a cookie scoop or spoon, form dough balls about 2 tablespoons in size. Flatten each ball slightly and place a small chocolate piece in the center before shaping it back into a ball.
  9. Place the dough balls about 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheets.
  10. Bake the cookies for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers look slightly underbaked.
  11. Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
