Description
Deliciously soft and chewy chocolate chip cookies that are easy to make and perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- ¾ cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup chocolate pieces or chunks (for the inside)
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until creamy and smooth.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time and then add the vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the creamed butter mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips to the dough until evenly distributed.
- Cover the dough with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. This helps the cookies maintain their shape during baking.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Using a cookie scoop or spoon, form dough balls about 2 tablespoons in size. Flatten each ball slightly and place a small chocolate piece in the center before shaping it back into a ball.
- Place the dough balls about 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheets.
- Bake the cookies for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers look slightly underbaked.
- Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For best results, chill the dough before baking.
- These cookies can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week.
