A New York bodega favorite turned into a hearty, cheesy wrap. Juicy ground beef, melted cheddar, fresh veggies, and a toasted tortilla make this a handheld comfort meal!

- 1 lb ground beef (80/20 for juiciness)
- 1 medium onion, finely diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon chili powder (optional, for heat)
- Salt & pepper, to taste
- 6 slices American or cheddar cheese
- 4 large flour tortillas (10-inch burrito size)
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1–2 tomatoes, sliced
- ¼ cup pickles (optional)
- ¼ cup mayonnaise or burger sauce
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add onions and cook until softened, about 3 minutes.
- Stir in garlic and ground beef. Cook until beef is browned and crumbled.
- Season with paprika, garlic powder, chili powder, salt, and pepper.
- While beef is still hot, layer slices of cheese on top.
- Cover with a lid for 1–2 minutes until cheese is melted into the beef. Mix gently.
- Warm tortillas on a skillet for 30 seconds per side.
- Spread a thin layer of mayo or sauce.
- Add shredded lettuce, tomato slices, pickles (if using), and a generous scoop of chopped cheese filling.
- Roll tightly into burrito-style wraps.
- Place seam-side down on a skillet until golden and slightly crispy. Flip and toast the other side.
- Slice in half and serve hot with fries and dipping sauce.
Notes
- For extra flavor, consider adding jalapeños or hot sauce to the filling.
- These wraps can be made ahead of time and reheated in a skillet.
