Description

Maple Bacon Churro Donuts are a delightful combination of sweet and savory, featuring crispy donuts coated in cinnamon sugar, topped with a rich maple glaze and crunchy candied bacon.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough (or homemade yeasted donut dough)
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • Oil, for frying
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup (real maple syrup for best flavor)
  • 12 tbsp milk (adjust for consistency)
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 6 slices thick-cut bacon
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with foil and place a rack on top.
  3. Lay out bacon slices, brush with maple syrup, and sprinkle with brown sugar.
  4. Bake for 18–22 minutes until caramelized and crispy. Let cool, then chop into small bits.
  5. Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Cut holes in the center of each biscuit dough piece (to form donuts).
  7. Fry until golden brown on each side (about 1–2 minutes per side). Drain on paper towels.
  8. Mix sugar and cinnamon in a shallow bowl.
  9. Roll warm donuts in the mixture until fully coated.
  10. In a bowl, whisk powdered sugar, maple syrup, milk, and vanilla until smooth and pourable.
  11. Drizzle maple glaze generously over donuts.
  12. Sprinkle with chopped candied bacon.
  13. Enjoy warm, sticky, and sweet with a cup of coffee!

Notes

  • For best results, use real maple syrup for the glaze.
  • Adjust the milk in the glaze for desired consistency.
  • Ensure the oil is at the right temperature for frying to achieve crispy donuts.
