Description

Delicious Neapolitan Surprise Cupcakes filled with strawberry cream and topped with whipped cream and chocolate ganache.


Ingredients

  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup (113 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup (200 g) sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup (120 ml) milk
  • 4 oz (113 g) cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ cup (30 g) powdered sugar
  • ½ cup (120 g) strawberry jam
  • 1 cup (240 ml) heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • Pink food coloring (optional, for strawberry effect)
  • ½ cup chocolate ganache (melted chocolate + cream)
  • Sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 12-cup muffin tin with liners.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla.
  4. Add dry mixture alternately with milk, mixing until smooth.
  5. Divide batter evenly among cupcake liners. Bake for 18–20 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely.
  6. Beat cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Stir in strawberry jam until well combined.
  7. Cut out a small hole in the center of each cupcake (use a knife or cupcake corer). Fill with about 1 teaspoon of strawberry cream mixture. Replace the top piece of cake to cover.
  8. Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar until stiff peaks form. Tint with pink food coloring if desired. Pipe generously on top of filled cupcakes.
  9. Drizzle with chocolate ganache. Add sprinkles for a festive Neapolitan look.
