Description

A decadent no-bake layered dessert with chocolate, peppermint cream, whipped topping, and crushed candy canes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 300 g chocolate sandwich cookies (Oreos), crushed
  • 6 tbsp (85 g) melted butter
  • 1 ½ cups (260 g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ¾ cup (180 ml) heavy cream
  • 225 g cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup (240 ml) heavy cream, cold
  • ½ cup (60 g) powdered sugar
  • ½ tsp peppermint extract
  • 1 cup (90 g) crushed candy canes
  • A few drops pink food coloring (optional)
  • 2 cups (480 ml) heavy whipping cream
  • ¼ cup (30 g) powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Extra crushed candy canes for garnish

Instructions

  1. Crush the chocolate cookies into fine crumbs. Mix with the melted butter until combined. Press firmly into a lined 9×9 inch (23×23 cm) pan. Freeze 10 minutes to set.
  2. Heat heavy cream until steaming (not boiling). Pour over the chocolate chips. Let sit 2 minutes, then whisk into a smooth ganache. Pour over the cold crust. Chill 20–30 minutes until slightly set.
  3. Beat cream cheese until smooth. Add powdered sugar and peppermint extract. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream to stiff peaks. Fold whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture. Mix in crushed candy canes and food coloring if desired. Spread evenly over the chocolate layer. Chill 20 minutes.
  4. Prepare the ganache again (same method as step 2). Pour gently over the peppermint layer. Chill 30 minutes.
  5. Whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla to stiff peaks. Spread a thick layer on top.
  6. Sprinkle generously with crushed candy canes. Chill at least 4 hours or overnight for clean slices.

Notes

  • For best results, chill overnight for a firmer texture.
  • Feel free to adjust the amount of peppermint extract to taste.
  • Use gluten-free cookies for a gluten-free version.
