Description

Delicious homemade pizza hot pockets filled with savory beef, pepperoni, and melted cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 packet yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup beef pepperoni
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella
  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: If you’re making your own pizza dough, combine flour, yeast, warm water, and salt in a bowl. Knead until smooth and let it rise for about an hour until it doubles in size. If using store-bought dough, let it sit at room temperature for about 20 minutes.
  2. Make the Filling: In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain any excess fat. Add beef pepperoni slices, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and a pinch of salt. Cook for a few more minutes until everything is well combined. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  3. Assemble the Hot Pockets: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Roll out your pizza dough on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thickness. Cut into rectangular pieces, approximately 4×6 inches.
  4. Fill the Dough: Spoon a generous amount of the beef and pepperoni mixture onto one half of each rectangle. Top with a sprinkle of shredded mozzarella and a spoonful of pizza sauce.
  5. Seal the Hot Pockets: Fold the other half of the dough over the filling, and press the edges together to seal. You can crimp the edges with a fork for a decorative touch. Make a few small slits on top to allow steam to escape.
  6. Bake: Place the assembled hot pockets on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed up. Keep an eye on them to avoid burning!
  7. Cool and Serve: Once they’re out of the oven, let them cool for a few minutes. Serve with extra pizza sauce on the side for dipping, and enjoy your homemade creations!

Notes

  • For a crispy crust, make sure to roll the dough thin.
  • You can substitute ground chicken or turkey for a leaner filling.
