Description

A deliciously easy slow cooker chicken sandwich made with tender chicken breasts, diced tomatoes, and Italian dressing.


Ingredients

Scale
  • pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 15 ounces diced tomatoes (drained)
  • ½ cup Italian dressing
  • 2 Tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • ¼ cup fresh basil (chopped)
  • 6 Hamburger Buns

Instructions

  1. Spray the slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. Place chicken breasts in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  3. Dump the canned tomatoes on top.
  4. In a small bowl, mix together Italian dressing, tomato paste, sugar, salt, and red pepper flakes.
  5. Pour mixture on top of chicken.
  6. Cook on low for 5-6 hours.
  7. Shred chicken with two forks and stir in fresh basil.
  8. Serve chicken on buns and enjoy.

Notes

  • For added flavor, consider marinating the chicken in Italian dressing overnight before cooking.
  • Top sandwiches with additional fresh basil or your favorite condiments.
