Description

Chewy oatmeal cookies decorated with melted chocolate to look like cute bear faces — perfect for kids, parties, or cozy treats!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 120 g unsalted butter (softened)
  • 100 g brown sugar
  • 50 g white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 120 g flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 150 g rolled oats (fine oats preferred)
  • 80 g white chocolate (muzzle + ears)
  • 50 g dark chocolate (eyes + nose + smile)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, beat the butter + brown sugar + white sugar until creamy.
  2. Add the egg + vanilla, mix well.
  3. Add flour + baking powder + salt.
  4. Add the oats and stir to combine.
  5. Chill the dough 20 minutes (helps cookies stay thick and soft).
  6. Preheat oven to 175°C.
  7. Scoop small balls of dough and flatten slightly into round cookies.
  8. For ears, place two tiny dough balls on the top edge of each cookie.
  9. Space cookies well (they spread).
  10. Bake 10–12 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
  11. Leave to cool completely on the tray (soft cookies firm as they cool).
  12. Melt the white chocolate and pipe a large oval for the mouth area in the center and small dots on each ear.
  13. Melt the dark chocolate and pipe two small dots for eyes, one larger dot for the nose, and two curved lines for the smile on the muzzle.
  14. Let the chocolate set (10–15 minutes) before serving.

Notes

  • Fine oats are preferred for a smoother texture.
  • Chilling the dough is crucial for maintaining the cookie shape.
  • Decorate cookies after they have cooled completely for best results.
