Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line three 8-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla.
  4. Mix in strawberry puree, lemon juice, and buttermilk alternately with the dry ingredients. Add pink food coloring if desired.
