Ingredients

  • 1 (14 oz / 400 g) bag of Starburst candies (assorted colors, unwrapped)
  • 3 tbsp corn syrup
  • ¼ cup water
  • 6 wooden sticks/skewers
  • Optional for Extra Swirl Colors: Gel food coloring (to intensify swirls)

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry apples thoroughly to remove any wax.
  2. Insert wooden sticks firmly into the center of each apple.
  3. In a heavy saucepan, combine Starburst candies, corn syrup, and water.
  4. Heat over medium-low, stirring constantly until fully melted and smooth.
  5. If desired, divide melted mixture into smaller bowls and add gel food coloring to intensify shades.
  6. Quickly drizzle different colors back into the main pan and lightly swirl with a toothpick (don’t overmix).
  7. Working one at a time, dip apples into the melted candy mixture, turning to coat completely.
  8. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet to set.
  9. Let candy coating harden completely (about 30 minutes).
  10. Serve as a colorful party treat or edible centerpiece.
