- 6 medium apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work best)
- 1 (14 oz / 400 g) bag of Starburst candies (assorted colors, unwrapped)
- 3 tbsp corn syrup
- ¼ cup water
- 6 wooden sticks/skewers
- Optional for Extra Swirl Colors: Gel food coloring (to intensify swirls)
Instructions
- Wash and dry apples thoroughly to remove any wax.
- Insert wooden sticks firmly into the center of each apple.
- In a heavy saucepan, combine Starburst candies, corn syrup, and water.
- Heat over medium-low, stirring constantly until fully melted and smooth.
- If desired, divide melted mixture into smaller bowls and add gel food coloring to intensify shades.
- Quickly drizzle different colors back into the main pan and lightly swirl with a toothpick (don’t overmix).
- Working one at a time, dip apples into the melted candy mixture, turning to coat completely.
- Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet to set.
- Let candy coating harden completely (about 30 minutes).
- Serve as a colorful party treat or edible centerpiece.
