- ⅓ cup (65 g) sugar
- 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) instant yeast
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup (240 ml) warm milk (110°F / 43°C)
- 2 large eggs (room temp)
- ⅓ cup (75 g) unsalted butter, melted
- ½ cup (115 g) unsalted butter, softened (for filling)
- 1 cup (200 g) brown sugar
- 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 4 oz (115 g) cream cheese, softened (for glaze)
- 2 cups (250 g) powdered sugar
- 2–3 tbsp milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
- Add warm milk, eggs, and melted butter. Mix until dough comes together.
- Knead 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise 1–1.5 hours until doubled.
- Mix softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon into a paste.
- Roll dough into a rectangle (~16×20 inches).
- Spread filling evenly over dough.
- Roll tightly into a log and slice into thick rolls (about 2 inches wide).
- Arrange rolls in greased round pans (use multiple layers for a tower look).
- Cover and let rise 30–45 minutes.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25–30 minutes, until golden brown.
- Beat cream cheese until smooth.
- Add powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla. Mix until pourable.
- Once baked rolls cool slightly, stack them in layers on a cake stand.
- Drizzle glaze generously over the top so it drips down the sides.
- Serve warm, pulling apart each roll slice by slice!
