- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 packet taco seasoning (or homemade mix)
- ½ cup water
- 2 cups sour cream (or Greek yogurt for a lighter version)
- 2 cups shredded lettuce
- 2 cups diced tomatoes
- 1 cup salsa
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 avocados, diced
- ½ red onion, finely chopped
- ½ cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1 cup nacho chips or Doritos (for garnish)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add ground beef, cook until browned.
- Stir in taco seasoning and water, simmer until thickened.
- Let it cool slightly before layering.
- First Layer: Crushed tortilla chips at the bottom of a large glass trifle bowl.
- Second Layer: Spoon half of the taco meat over the chips.
- Third Layer: Spread a layer of sour cream.
- Fourth Layer: Add shredded lettuce.
- Fifth Layer: Top with diced tomatoes and salsa.
- Sixth Layer: Add the remaining taco meat and spread evenly.
- Seventh Layer: Sprinkle generously with shredded cheddar cheese.
- Add diced avocado, red onion, and cilantro on top.
- Garnish with nacho chips for crunch.
Notes
- For a lighter version, substitute sour cream with Greek yogurt.
